A Pro's Take on Working with an Architect

I am an accountant who recently who has been dreaming about building a home with my husband since before he was actually husband. We're finally taking the plunge this year and the process is literally taking over our lives.
I am very heavily into details, almost to the point of neurosis, sometimes. You've heard of bridezillas, right? My biggest fear is that I'll turn into a construction-monster.
